What does your business stand for? B Corp Event on Social-Purpose Business

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Now Creative Group has teamed up to host a free event for businesses and aspiring social entrepreneurs on November 18 at 6:30 pm.

The event is focused on networking and knowledge. Speakers from B Corp Canada (Aaron Emery, MaRS Centre for Impact Investing) and successful B Corp Certified businesses from the GTA will share their experience.

One goal is to bring B Corp to new areas like Brampton, joining the 100 companies in Canada so far with the certification.

The event will cover topics such as:

  • How to Start a Social Purpose Business
  • Brampton Businesses for a Better World
  • B Corp Benefits for Entrepreneurs
  • Is Your Business Engaged?
  • Non-Profit vs. Social Enterprise

What are B Corps?

B Corp is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk. B Corps are certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Today, there is a growing community of more than 1,000 Certified B Corps from 33 countries and over 60 industries working together toward 1 unifying goal: to redefine success in business.

There currently are 100 Canadian B Corps, which represent over 10% of the 910 global B Corps across 60 industries in 29 countries. (Canadian B Corps are the largest cluster outside of the United States)

This completely free event is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
