Kick-start Mally McKee: The Missing Pie Caper
From the very start, the objective for Mally McKee: The Missing Pie Caper was simple: create a memorable reading experience for kids.
Now Creative Group is pleased to support the Kickstarter campaign for this fresh way to encourage reading, exploration and creativity. Our video introduces the creative behind the project:
Jay Weiler , the author and illustrator behind the project, shares his story:
“Achieving this objective would be a challenge, because I knew, through first-hand experience, that crafting such an experience would take a considerable amount of time. However, I was up for the challenge. This challenge was also spurred on by my love for imagination and curiosity. As a creative professional, I recognize the importance of these things. Moreover, I also consider these things to be important building blocks for a child’s overall development.”
“As a result of these convictions, I spent a lot of time researching and developing this project. And this craftsmanship mattered. That’s why every word and every sentence was carefully thought out and composed. The result is a story that’s full of colourful characters and whimsical rhymes.”
“In addition to the content, I also spent a substantial amount of time developing the look and feel of the characters. This process was, to me, of equal importance to the content itself. I knew that a strong illustration can anchor the content successfully and allow me to establish a stronger connection with the reader.”
What’s the story?
A famous sleuth is called upon to solve a missing pie caper. Can the mystery be solved? And will the pie be found in time? A sneaky thief has stolen an apple pie! Who would do such a thing – and why? To answer these questions, the Ministry of Find has put their best sleuth, Mally McKee, on the case. Help her question suspects and collect clues to catch the culprit before it’s too late!
What will it look like?
Here’s a preview of Mally McKee: The Missing Pie Caper. This preview showcases the fox named Rox. She’s one of the characters from the book, and she’s also a suspect.
“This project has been immensely satisfying to work on. Whenever you have an opportunity to enrich a child’s life through imagination and curiosity, it’s an honour and privilege. And I do not take this opportunity lightly.” – Jay Wieler
