Better businesses make better gifts: B Corp Holiday Gift Guide
The Winter Holiday Guide 2013 is spotlighting the social mission sector — B Corps and beyond. Designed by Now Creative Group, this guide was developed by the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing and the Centre for Social Innovation.
Aaron H. Emery, a B Corp communications fellow with the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing in Toronto led the group that created the B Corp Holiday Gift Guide this year.
“We were convinced that people are hungry for better options, whether it be in holiday shopping or in life more generally, and we thought we’d try to help introduce people around Toronto to these options,” says Aaron, noting the response to the guide has been positive.
A print version has been distributed to a number of local co-working spaces and coffee shops as well as e-mailed to about 30,000 people.
“All the feel-good stories in the world won’t matter if consumers don’t ultimately commit some portion of their shopping dollars to these businesses that are doing things better,” Aaron says.
